Frequently Asked Questions

My student it signed up for violin lessons. Do I need to buy an instrument? No. We recommend renting first. This allows the student some flexibility in terms of interest and also allows credit to be built up that can later be applied to the purchase of an instrument.

My student is starting piano lessons. Do I need to buy a grand piano? No, a grand piano isn’t necessary, but an instrument they can practice on is. This can be anything from an inexpensive keyboard to an upright piano. Keep in mind that as the student progresses, they will need better equipment.

Do I need any books for the first lesson? If the student is a beginner, no. If the student has played before, it is good to bring things they have worked so that the instructor can have an idea of the level of their experience and exposure.
